Bob: "If there is a compromise ... I'd really like to know what the animals got. What did HSUS negotiate for the animals? What did the egg industry give up"?

...

Tim: "Well, I don't know"...

I didn't hear any answers to Bob's questions, or perhaps I missed them. Does anyone have answers?

Lucas, the objection "what did the animals get?" is not an objection that can be levied at this compromise agreement alone. That is, if one doesn't accept that so-called welfare reforms do anything for the animals, then it's not relevant that such reforms would be enacted on the national as opposed to the state level. Bob appears to believe that the HSUS/UEP deal is something worse than other reform measures, but it isn't at all clear why or how that would be the case.

Hi Lucas,

I don't believe I gave an answer to that question, because I don't believe that the hens receive any benefit from this deal. I apologise if I didn't make my position clearer during the discussion.

Carolyn
